Getting rid of stock?

I have about 10,000 images, all in 35mm slide form. I am quitting the stock business to pursue another career and wondered if there is anything viable that I can still do with all these slides? Stock agencies don't seem to be the answer for 35mm film anymore. Do I just pitch them and forget it or is there something worthwhile to do with them in this digital age?

You can always scan your slides and place them on a microstock agency such as istock.

My suggestion would be to talk to the curator of a local museum at a local college or historical society. They might not have the budget for your slides but they might scan them for you free of charge and you could donate these to your relatives.
Hope this helps -- Maria

You can search for a dealer, to get rid of them effectively.

Jan:

Scanning - using a film-scanner and not a flatbed - is a great way to bring slides into the digital age.

I wouldn't put images with any micro-agency though. Your images will end up selling (all rights in perpetuity meaning that the buyer can use the image sold for whatever they want for how long they want with no further payments to you. Instead I'd recommend signing up with an agency like Alamy or FotoBlibra. The licensing fees are much, much higher than the micro-agencies. This is especially true if you can provide something that isn't readily available through the micro-agencies.
