I have used Rohn's methods since 1982 and am now fully digital. What are your suggestions concerning using a blog for marketing in specific target specialities?

Don –
Yes, using a BLOG to promote your work is definitely a good tool to use. You’ll find the best success in selling your stock photography by combining both your website and your BLOG and synchronizing them with corresponding links. We call it the ‘twin’ system.

A BLOG is actually a web site (web log) but much easier to design, enhance and expand than a ‘static’ website which requires technical knowledge. As you advance in your Internet knowledge, the bells & whistles of a standard website, in the end, is going to be a necessity if you plan on setting up a gallery and checkout feature.

To get some technical help from the guru programmers, check out Google –-a phrase in the search box :
Which blog program should I use?
You’ll find mucho help. One caution: The BLOG world is advancing to a point where advice written in 2006 might already be outdated. Hope this helps. – Rohn

Don,
I agree with Ron. The more places your name pops up on the internet the better. Don't forget social networking such as Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn and link backs to your blog and cross links to your website.
Several options exist for blogging but you want to be sure to get a "photoblog".
GoDaddy offers an option for WordPress pre-installed on a website. With access to your control panel you can add various widgets including photo albums etc. I have a couple of blogs unrelated to photography and use WordPress with both. It is very easy to use and set up. The "free" online version is OK but much better if you host it yourself.
If you do go with the free version hosted by WordPress you still can purchase a domain name and point it to your blog.
BTW, there are things like Google Ads that you can place on your own hosted version that WordPress will not allow on the free version. Likewise if you want to set up affiliate links you'll need the hosted version.
