Bridge problems

Hello,
I have been unable this last hour to work through Bridge. It worked well all morning, but now it won't. I use Photoshop CS3 and the Windows plataform.
Bridge became awfully slow at some point, and started cutting me off every few minutes--eight times in half an hour, saying that An error occurred and it has to turn off.
Then it would not let me delete pictures. And now it won't show any of the thousands of pictures I have in my archive..
I set Photoshop at default, and rebooted the computer, but with no success.
I would be very grateful for any suggestions on what else to try to fix the problem.
